Human Resource Manager

The Human Resource Manager will support the department by carrying out a variety of duties including hiring and interviewing staff, training/coaching, employee relations, performance management, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Must be bilingual English/Spanish. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and prepare offer letters.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training and Supervisory skills training.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5 + years experience in progressive HR role.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS/ Paychex payroll systems.
