WLAN Analyst
As a WLAN Analyst for the client's Americas team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills as you support a wide variety of network-related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.
This role will work with the WLAN team to provide support for all of the client's locations across the Americas.
A typical day includes:
- Work directly on WLAN issue identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions
- Participate in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components
- Work actively with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructure
- Implement WLAN designs
- Work with expanded WLAN team to implement processes and/or process improvements to aid in development and support
- Maintain and administer WLAN including hardware, software, applications software, and configurations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve WLAN hardware, software, or other network and system problems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with team members, approximately 1 week every 8 weeks
Technical skills required:
- Computer-related or engineering-related four-year college or university degree
- Three to six years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences
- WLAN implementation and support, knowledge of risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals, ethernet, QoS, IP subnetting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, VLAN Trunking, VLANs, and switching configuration.
- Functional experience with LAN operations and implementation utilizing Cisco switches.
- Cisco WLAN devices/products (i.e., AireOS, 9800's, etc.)
Desired technical skills:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Experience with automation technologies and scripting
- Relevant work experience with medium to large companies
- Must have knowledge of configuration commands, software, and hardware components related to WLAN
Soft skills required:
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
Education requirements:
- Bachelors degree with 8+years experience
