The Maintenance Manager will lead all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure production equipment, utilities, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably in support of high‑quality food manufacturing. This role will develop and guide a skilled maintenance team, oversee equipment troubleshooting and long‑term corrective actions, and maintain accurate maintenance records while ensuring compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and other food safety standards.
The Maintenance Manager will partner closely with cross‑functional leaders to support production needs, drive continuous improvement, manage contractors and critical spare parts, and uphold Our Home’s commitment to producing safe, consistent, and trusted food every day. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
- Lead, manage, and continuously improve the plant’s preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure all production equipment, utilities, and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support production goals.
- Oversee troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and long‑term corrective actions for equipment failures.
- Develop and oversee a preventive maintenance (PM) program to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
- Maintain accurate equipment histories, work orders, and maintenance documentation through use of CMMS.
- Develop and implement reliability‑centered maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
- Proven ability to analyze equipment data and equipment care strategies.
- Be available to collaborate with other facilities to help troubleshoot, maintain and provide technical expertise.
- Ensure maintenance activities align with all food safety and regulatory requirements including GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA and facility sanitation policies.
- Partner with Quality and Sanitation teams to align maintenance activities with plant operations.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation, equipment condition, and compliance.
- Oversee contractor work to ensure adherence to plant safety, food safety, and maintenance standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing maintenance team, fostering accountability, skill growth, and safety ownership.
- Oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for maintenance personnel.
- Build a positive culture that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Partner with Production and Quality teams to support operations and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, spare parts, and capital expenses.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and manage vendor relationships.
- Drive cost‑effective maintenance strategies without compromising safety or equipment reliability.
- Responsible for following all safety rules and working safely at all times.
- Responsible for identifying and resolving any safety issues with plant leadership team.
- Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and SQF standards.
- Required to wear safety shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Strong knowledge of processing and packaging equipment, utilities (boilers, compressed air), and automation systems.
- Strong knowledge of CBM (condition‑based monitoring) and FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis).
- Hands‑on knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, HVAC, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with FIIX systems and reliability‑centered maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices preferred.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance in FDA/USDA‑regulated facilities.
- Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and food safety regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
