Riverside Healthcare is seeking a motivated and compassionate License‑Pending Registered Nurse to join our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) team in Kankakee, Illinois. The role involves assisting in the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to residents, contributing to the development of care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident care while the candidate completes their final licensure requirements. Flexibility with assignments within the professional scope, duties, and licensure is essential.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a licensed RN/APRN.
- Monitor and record residents’ vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report changes in conditions or behaviors immediately.
- Assist with wound care, administer medications, and perform treatments as directed by a licensed RN.
- Participate in resident assessments and contribute to individualized care plans, monitoring progress and collaborating with the nursing team to adjust plans as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team (therapists, physicians, social workers) to coordinate resident care and participate in shift reports and care conferences.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all care provided, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
- Assist in administering medications under direct supervision of a licensed RN, monitor for adverse reactions, and document administration accurately.
- Provide residents and families with education about health conditions, treatments, and care routines; support residents in understanding care plans and encourage active participation in decision‑making.
- Advocate for residents’ needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning.
- Follow all safety protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives, identify and report potential risks or hazards, and promote a positive and supportive environment for residents and staff.
- Engage in professional development, ongoing training, and in‑service education to enhance nursing skills and stay informed about best practices.
- Acute care clinical nursing experience or rotations.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Official written notification of completion and pass of the NCLEX‑RN exam.
- Proof of submission of the required licensure fee.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- New graduate RNs must earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within three years of the start date.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Base compensation within the positions pay range based on qualifications and experience.
