Kankakee Country Club is seeking a Greenskeeper! Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.

General

Purpose:

Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required.

$14 - $18

• Perform general landscape maintenance using hand-held equipment.
• Rake and maintain sand bunkers.
• Operate small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing.
• Prepare soil beds for sod, seed, and vegetative material.
• Perform tasks related to course detailing (weed and debris cleanup).
• Assist with golf course setup procedures.
• Operate utility vehicles for hauling materials and removing debris.
• Perform skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
• Operate equipment safely and remain aware of associates and their respective work areas.
• Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Less than a high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms.
• Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches.
• Regularly talks or hears.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles.
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences vibration.
• Noise level is loud.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; manuals for equipment may be in English).
