Quality Assurance Manager

Our client has a tradition of excellence as a leader specializing in close tolerance precision machined components. Our clients continued growth and success has created an excellent opportunity for a qualified Quality Assurance Manager to lead the Quality organization reporting to the President of the company.

Responsibilities

Lead the improvement of an excellent quality system to ensure ongoing compliance to ISO 9001 standards and serve as the quality system management representative. Lead efforts to pursue additional quality certifications as necessary to meet the growth goals of our customers and our business. Establish effective working relationships with our customers and suppliers and lead initiatives to resolve customer and supplier quality problems in a timely manner.

Support the advanced product and quality planning (APQP) process to ensure compliance to quality systems and successful integration of new products into operations. Plan, promote and organize training activities related to product quality as needed. Supervising a technical staff which currently includes 5 individuals in SQE, Calibration and Inspection.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience working with close tolerance precision machined components. Excellent working knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T Ability to interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards. Demonstrated experience in the effective use of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc) First article and Final Inspection experience Experience in deploying statistical quality methods (sampling plans, DOE, CPK, etc) Understanding of metrology, with ability to utilize several types of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, hardness testing and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Strong organizational skills and communication skills plus attention to detail.

Preferences

Bachelor Degree in Quality Sciences, Engineering or comparative work in technical field. CMM programming capability. PC/software literate.
