Job Overview
Kelly, in partnership with a growing manufacturer, is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Kankakee, IL. This is a direct hire position, meaning you will be hired permanently with the client and offered a competitive vacation, compensation and benefit package upon hire.

- Pay: $35 - $42 per hour, based on experience
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for constructing, repairing, installing, and removing various machines, equipment, and conduit, both metal and PVC, with respect to quality, good sanitation practices and safety in an efficient manner. Main responsibilities include troubleshooting, installation, and repair of all electrical equipment and instrumentation. A PLC background is a plus. Must be qualified to work on 480 volt/3 phase electrical applications.
The Maintenance Technician must be willing to work overtime and respond to call-in work.
- Rebuild, repair, or replace damaged, defective, or worn parts.
- Troubleshoot, locate, identify, or diagnose electrical malfunction.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems or components.
- Test electrical circuits, components or systems.
- Test electrical system for faulty connections.
- Read and interpret drawings and layouts.
- Set up and operate equipment necessary to perform all functions of the craft.
- Install, maintain, replace, move or remove equipment, machines, piping or any other production or maintenance devices.
- Install and maintain insulation on equipment, piping, ducts and spouting.
- Perform repairs to ensure machines and equipment operate correctly.
- Perform necessary carpenter work.
- Perform lining of conveyors.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and remove material and equipment from job site.
- Testing, maintaining, and modifying facility's control systems.
- Install, program, and maintain PLC, instrumentation equipment and sensors.
- Perform all operations necessary for construction, installation, and repair of equipment and devices.
- Maintain shop cleanliness.
- Electrical trade school education
- Experience with 480 volt three phase motors required.
