Position Overview
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in University Park, IL. Drivers earn $1600 or more per week with paid training and a strong benefits package.
- Weekly pay up to $1600
- Solo miles: $0.53 per mile (on average 2000 miles per week)
- Solo stops: $24.00 per stop (35 stops per week)
- Per diem: $26.52 per night (2–3 nights per week)
- Loyalty bonus: $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 1 year
- Sign‑on bonus: $500 at 30 days and $500 at 90 days
- Overnights in Ryder‑booked hotels or sleeper rigs
- Paid training
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday
Routes include IL, IN, MI, OH, MO, WI, MN, IA, KS.
- Regional tractor‑trailer (late‑model)
- Trailers: 48'–53' Conestoga, curtainside, flatbed
- Freight:
Steel & metal products (securement required) - Requires 6 months of flatbed experience
- Trucks 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance

Requirements- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check, DOT physical, and road test
- Provide a Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements
- Class A experience in a tractor‑trailer: 9 months within past 3 years, or 2 years within past 5 years, or 5 years within past 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and minimize safety hazards, maintaining accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
