The duties of the #1 Mechanic will include but not limited to:
Responsibilities- Support and lead preparation and maintenance of the GTP car before, during, and after race events
- Coordinate and direct the mechanic crew in the garage and during pit stops
- Perform technical diagnostics, repairs, and setup adjustments to chassis, external powertrain, electronics, and aerodynamics components
- Ensure compliance with technical regulations, safety standards, and vehicle reliability requirements
- Work closely with engineers, drivers, and the Crew Chief to rapidly implement setup decisions
- Document work, faults, and changes (issue lists, service logs, checklists)
- Prepare and maintain tools, spare parts, and measurement equipment
- Manage inventory control
- Support testing, development runs, and technical meetings
- Attend briefings and debriefs; contribute to fault analysis and continuous improve men
- Completed training as an automotive mechatronics technician, vehicle mechanic, or comparable technical qualification
- Minimum 5–7 years of motor sport experience, ideally with DPI, LMP1, LMP2, GTE, or GTLM endurance cars (IMSA, WEC, or equivalent top series experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, hybrid systems (if applicable), transmissions, suspension, brakes, electronics, and data analysis
- Experience with diagnostic systems, telemetry, and data evaluation
- Leadership experience or proven ability to lead a small team under high pressure conditions
- High resilience and flexibility (willingness to travel, work irregular hours, and attend race weekends)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under stress
- Fluent in English;
German skills are a plus - Valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization/Green Card, or willingness to relocate with appropriate visa arrangements
- Team player with clear communication skills
