Automotive Used Cars Technician

Hilbish Ford is looking for an experienced Used Car Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair pre‑owned vehicles to help ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for the road.

We're seeking a technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, a positive attitude, and a commitment to doing the job right. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship and is comfortable working on a wide range of makes and models. Because our used vehicle inventory is diverse, success in this role requires the ability to adapt, troubleshoot effectively, and deliver consistent, high‑quality repairs across different vehicle brands and systems.

• Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to assess overall condition
• Identify and document any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other vehicle systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
• Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards
• Other duties assigned

• Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred
• Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models
• Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians
• Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines
