Director Of Career Technical Education

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Required:

  • Proficient in the use of computers and the ability to use a variety of computer applications software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Excellent grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills
  • Ability to compose, compile and summarize information
  • Ability to efficiently gather and analyze data
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule variable tasks
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills in English
  • Ability to interact and communicate with staff and the public
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations
  • Ability to be flexible and work well with others

Education And Training:

  • Minimum of a two-year degree and one year of related work experience

Term Of Employment: 12 months

Salary:
Salary Grade 56 FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a busy and productive office.
  • Operate microcomputer, scanner, copier, fax machine, and printer.
  • Prepare general correspondence, memos, reports, and newsletters as directed.
  • Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Maintain records as directed.
  • Maintain personnel file for Career Technical Education teachers.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor catalog file.
  • Assist coordinators and secretary/treasurer as needed.
  • Assist with Career Technical Education testing process.
  • Assist with scanning/scoring and maintaining Career and Technical Education State Assessments.
  • Deliver and retrieve equipment.
  • Participate in training deemed appropriate for the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting and walking.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
  • Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and drive delivery vehicle (station wagon, van and/or truck) to a variety of sites.
  • Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.
