Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. Salary: $17 per hour.
The position will support operations at the Human Performance Laboratory on the North Carolina Research Campus. Key duties include:
- Executing specialized procedures for clinical research and community fitness testing.
- Ensuring quality control during data collection.
- Conducting subject recruitment and scheduling.
- Maintaining lab equipment while strictly complying with environmental health and safety policies.
- Coordinating human subject testing.
- Assisting with research studies in Human Performance and Biochemistry labs.
- Combination of training and experience sufficient to perform duties.
- 1–2 years experience conducting physical fitness tests.
- Experience in biochemistry lab assays is beneficial.
- Team player willing to work a flexible schedule based on study needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Ability to handle human samples (blood, urine, fecal matter, saliva) for assays such as ELISA, HPLC and plate assays.
- Ability to conduct body composition, cardio‑respiratory fitness, and muscle strength testing independently.
- Ability to perform quality control during data collection.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety policies.
- Competency with lab equipment: treadmills, cycle ergometers, metabolic equipment, and biochemistry equipment.
- Degree in biology, exercise science, physiology, nutrition, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field (preferred).
- Experience performing and/or assisting specialized research procedures in Human Performance and/or Biochemistry labs (preferred).
