Job Summary

We are on the lookout for a meticulous and seasoned Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to become an integral part of a well‑established organization in Johnson County. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a diverse range of accounting functions while supporting the financial reporting processes, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

• Efficiently process a high volume of accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments to vendors.
• Manage accounts receivable, including billing and invoicing, to maintain a healthy cash flow.
• Handle cash receipts meticulously, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with the CFO to prepare comprehensive daily and monthly financial reports that reflect the company’s performance.
• Review and verify freight expenses and associated billings to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
• Conduct thorough account analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, providing actionable insights.
• Research, reconcile, and resolve any financial discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare detailed journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Effectively dispute chargebacks from customers, leveraging strong negotiation skills to protect company interests.

• A proven track record of 3+ years as a Staff Accountant or Bookkeeper
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Great Plains, Sage, People Soft, or similar platforms, enabling efficient financial management.
• Extensive experience with financial analysis, including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, cash flow analysis, and bank reconciliation.
• Strong general ledger experience, with a solid understanding of financial reporting principles.
• Exceptional organizational skills paired with a keen attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
