The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.

- Managing the daily, weekly and monthly transactional flow for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and the General Ledger month end close process.
- Supervise and support the Accounting Specialists (AR/AP) in the completion of their job responsibilities.
- Manage daily and monthly cash flow.
- Manage the timely and accurate processing of all vendor invoices and employee expense reports including ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained; invoices are coded to the proper G/L account; proper controls are maintained over disbursement checks.
- Manage the timely and accurate processing of customer billings, ensuring the customer is invoiced correctly for all services and products supplied by Opaa! in accordance with the terms of the district contract.
- Ensure the timely collection of Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure the accuracy of the balance sheet and income statement accounts with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Supervise the month end general ledger closing process.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records.
- Monitor and work with districts to ensure that inventory counting and general accounting policies are being adhered to.
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations for month end closing.
- Review and reconcile payroll and benefits bi-weekly.
- Assist in the review and analysis of the monthly financial statements.
- Prepare miscellaneous analysis and reconciliations as requested by management team.
- Assist with all aspects of financial and 401K audits to ensure the auditors receive all requested information.
- Work with the Benefits Administrator on benefit reconciliation.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to Opaa! employees in the field as needed.
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement and solutions by recommending process improvements to senior management.
- Create and maintain export files from BOSS to Great Plains.
- Coordinate data integrations between systems to maximize efficiency.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, and sit. Occasionally required to stoop, push, pull, feel, grasp, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must exert over 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, and ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
- Inside and outside working conditions.
- Frequently works around moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold.
- Noise level is usually loud.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA, a plus but not required.
Experience- 1 - 3 years’ experience in managing a team
- Over five years of experience in full cycle accounting role
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving, process improvement.
- Strong follow-up skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Strong ability to integrate and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of the organization. Able to write business correspondence and memos.
- Strong financial analysis skills with attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding of financial statements and cost accounting metrics.
- Ability to identify trends and drivers of financial results.
- In-depth understanding of MS Excel, proficiency in other Office applications.
- Basic understanding of accounting software and report builders.
- Knowledge of Great Plains, a plus
- Must be able to appropriately handle confidential information.
- Must be able to travel, as required (est. 5%-10%)
