Staff Accountant

Job Description Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join a growing company in Johnson County. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting various accounting functions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Maintain general ledgers and complete the monthly closing process, which includes preparing and processing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Record general entries.
• Assist with annual financial audits by preparing schedules and interacting with auditors.
• Monitor cash balances.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee compliance and reporting requirements.
• Maintain financial files in accordance with contract provisions and ensure compliance.
• Prepare financial analyses as directed.

• 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant
• A Bachelor of Science in Accounting is a must
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
