Electrical Estimator – Commercial Construction

Kansas City Metro | $100,000-$130,000 salary

Schedule: 100% Onsite | Monday–Friday

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-established commercial electrical contractor in the Kansas City Metro that has built a strong reputation across complex commercial construction, preconstruction, design-build, underground utilities, data/communications, and specialty electrical systems.

This is a strong opportunity for an Electrical Estimator who wants to be part of a stable, respected contractor with long-term career growth, strong benefits, and a real seat at the table during the preconstruction and bidding process.

The team is looking for someone who understands commercial electrical construction
, can produce accurate estimates, and enjoys working closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and preconstruction teams to help win profitable work.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Prepare detailed electrical construction estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and project scope.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work.
  • Solicit, compare, and qualify pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Price standard and specialty electrical equipment for commercial construction projects.
  • Develop assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and risk items for bids.
  • Support budgeting, value engineering, conceptual pricing, and preconstruction efforts.
  • Maintain historical cost data, estimating files, and pricing information.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction leadership to ensure a smooth handoff after award.
  • Help the team build competitive, accurate bids that support successful project execution.
What They’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, materials, equipment, and installation methods
    .
  • Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction scopes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but equivalent field/estimating experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, compare pricing, and communicate clearly with internal and external partners.
  • Someone who takes ownership, asks good questions, and understands that accurate estimating drives project success.
