Description

Geiger Ready-Mix is looking for a Logistics Coordinator who can help customers get the right concrete, to the right jobsite, at the right time.

Logistics Coordinators are customer-focused problem solvers who learn our customers’ order patterns, gather detailed jobsite information, enter order and dispatch information accurately, communicate with delivery professionals and operations, and help keep a fast-moving delivery schedule on track. The work requires accuracy, composure, learning agility, and the ability to stay professional when plans change.

If you enjoy helping customers, solving problems, learning technical information, and being part of a team that helps build the Kansas City area, this could be a strong career opportunity.

What you can expect

  • Starting pay of $24/hour, with higher pay based on relevant experience
  • Competitive benefits and Performance-Based Incentive opportunities
  • Paid training in ready-mix products, order entry, customer service, and dispatch operations
  • A team-oriented culture built on safety, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Stable work with a well-established, family-owned company
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and advance your career

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer customer calls and gather order information, including concrete mix needs, quantity, delivery time, jobsite location, access details, and special instructions
  • Enter customer orders accurately and efficiently into the dispatch system
  • Communicate with customers about order details, schedule changes, potential issues, and available options
  • Work closely with dispatch, plant managers, and other teammates to ensure orders move smoothly
  • Learn ready-mix terminology, customer patterns, jobsite needs, and value-added product options
  • Maintain a calm, professional, and helpful tone with customers and teammates, including during stressful or fast-changing situations
  • After mastering order entry, begin learning dispatch support responsibilities such as scheduling deliveries, monitoring truck status, adjusting schedules, and communicating driver start/finish information.

The schedule

Concrete is time-sensitive, and customer schedules can change based on weather, jobsite readiness, and project demands. Because of that, this role may include early start times, extended days, and occasional Saturday work during busy periods.

We are upfront about the schedule because dependability matters in this role. At the same time, many people enjoy the variety, teamwork, and sense of accomplishment that comes from helping customers and operations solve real-time problems every day.

Who thrives in this role

  • Detail-oriented — you notice small details because small mistakes can create big delivery issues
  • Calm under pressure — you can stay respectful and solution-focused when customers or schedules are stressed
  • Fast learners — you are willing to learn concrete mixes, jobsite language, delivery timing, and dispatch systems
  • Organized — you can keep track of multiple orders, calls, changes, and follow-ups
  • Clear communicators — you can explain information simply and pass details along accurately
  • Dependable — your teammates and customers can count on you to be present, prepared, and focused
  • Team-minded — you understand that customer service, dispatch, drivers, plants, and operations all depend on each other

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to enter information accurately while handling phone and radio communication
  • Ability to remain professional and respectful in stressful or fast-paced situations
  • Ability to learn industry-specific systems, terminology, and procedures
  • Ability to work early mornings, extended…
