Cast Member

City Year seeks Ameri Corps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to teachers through tutoring, mentoring, and behavior support
• Deliver one-on-one and small-group academic interventions in subjects like math and English
• Build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional development
• Track and report student progress using City Year tools and school data
• Support school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school climate activities
• Participate in ongoing City Year and Ameri
• Corps trainings and professional development
• Collaborate with a diverse team of Ameri
• Corps members and school staff
• Communicate regularly with partner teachers and supervisors about student needs
• Model positive behavior, attendance, and a commitment to service
• Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support student success
