Position OverviewPosition: Special Education Teacher
Location: Kansas City, KS
School Year: August 2026 - May 21, 2027
Grade Levels: K-12
Employment Type: Full-Time | School-Year Contract

- Life Skills Classrooms
- Autism Support Programs
- Behavioral Support Programs
- Alternative Education Programs for Students with Significant Behavioral Needs
As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction based on students' academic and behavioral needs
- Track student progress and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Implement effective classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
- Active Kansas Teaching License required
- Appropriate Special Education endorsement/certification for assigned grade level
- Ability to provide all required credentials and documentation before placement
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Previous Special Education teaching experience preferred
