Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Kansas City, KS
School Year: August 2026 - May 21, 2027
Grade Levels: K-12
Employment Type: Full-Time | School-Year Contract

  • Life Skills Classrooms

  • Behavioral Support Programs
  • Alternative Education Programs for Students with Significant Behavioral Needs
Key Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver specialized instruction based on students' academic and behavioral needs
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Implement effective classroom management and behavioral intervention strategies
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
Qualifications
  • Active Kansas Teaching License required
  • Appropriate Special Education endorsement/certification for assigned grade level
  • Ability to provide all required credentials and documentation before placement
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Previous Special Education teaching experience preferred
