Job summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in electrical utility infrastructure, specifically within substation and transmission projects. This individual will support the execution, coordination, and delivery of utility projects from planning through construction and commissioning.
• The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience supporting transmission and substation work in utility, EPC, or power delivery environments. Candidates with Professional Engineer (PE) licensure are highly preferred.
• This role requires strong technical coordination, field execution support, and the ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, construction teams, engineers, subcontractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Support execution of transmission and substation projects from design through construction and closeout
• Coordinate with engineering, field construction, and utility stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction packages
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement tracking, and progress reporting
• Provide field support during construction, commissioning, and energization activities
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, OSHA requirements, and project safety procedures
• Track project deliverables, documentation, and change management processes
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes throughout project execution
• Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and site walks as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site management to ensure project success
• Ensure project plan is moving forward to meet anticipated deadlines
• Responsible for RFI and submittal process
• Process owner billings and project-related accounting issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of experience within Substation/Transmission work
• Electrical, utility background, substation/ transmission
• 1 - 3 years of experience as a project engineer or project manager
• Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
