All locations work together to provide a range of services including manufacturing, repair, design engineering, and distribution of components. Summary

We are seeking a talented and driven Project Engineer to join our Valve Pak group, responsible for custom hydraulic manifold and circuit design across low- to high-volume products. In this role you will own projects from concept through delivery; working directly with customers to define requirements, designing the circuit and manifold solution, and coordinating closely with our shop floor to bring each build to completion.

While you will take responsibility for your individually assigned projects, the company provides extensive resources in support of your work. This is a great opportunity for someone with a hydraulics or design background who wants to grow; we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Own custom manifold and hydraulic circuit design projects from concept through production for low- to high-volume products.
  • Manage projects start to finish, including timelines, quoting, budgets, and deliverables with a strong focus on the customer.
  • Interact directly with customers to understand their application, define scope, and develop solutions that meet stated requirements.
  • Design hydraulic circuits and manifolds in AutoCAD, including schematic development and manifold layouts.
  • Size and select appropriate hydraulic components to meet performance and application requirements.
  • Define a project budget, control costs, and work with vendors to obtain pricing and set appropriate customer expectations.
  • Design and witness system tests, and document any design or as-built changes.
  • Coordinate heavily with the shop floor to ensure correct understanding of project scope, schematics, design, and system requirements, and to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, BOMs, and revision control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Occasionally support system set-up and troubleshooting at customer sites as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and circuits.
  • Experience sizing and selecting hydraulic components for an application.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar for schematic design and manifold layouts.
  • Strong understanding of physics, materials, and design principles.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to own multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing timelines.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and is willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Has solid verbal and written communication skills. Works well as an individual and in a team and can successfully interact with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time and coordinate closely with the shop floor.
  • Willingness to travel for occasional field support. Typically up to 15%.
Additional Beneficial Skills
  • Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college/university (strongly preferred).
  • Prior experience with manifold design and HyDraw or similar circuit design software.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Prior experience in a custom-build or made-to-order manufacturing environment, or in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
Benefits

Starting wage commensurate with the experience level of the candidate. Enjoy a rewarding work environment and competitive benefits, including 401(k) and Profit Sharing with financial advisor support, medical, dental, vision plans, life and pet insurance, wellness program, and fitness club subsidies.
