We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer experienced in the design, implementation, and management of on premises and cloud-based infrastructure to support AWG’s ongoing application modernization efforts. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role responsible for implementing and maintaining Azure resources using Terraform and contributing to Azure Dev Ops (ADO) pipeline work as part of a cross functional engineering team. The role focuses on delivering secure, repeatable, and compliant Azure infrastructure across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
The ideal candidate is independent, resourceful, and able to perform complex tasks with minimal oversight while working closely with infrastructure, security, networking, SRE, and application peers.
- Work independently to develop solutions based on requirements using AWG standards while collaborating with other team members on shared solutions.
- Act as the technical Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure contributor on projects, helping define technical approach, planning, and implementation.
- Deliver technical solutions with high quality, on time, and on budget.
- Create and manage standards and procedures related to system deployments, upgrades, lifecycle management, and general environment maintenance.
- Responsible for lifecycle ownership of solutions, including selection, implementation, software currency, upgrades, and technology retirement.
- Design, test, and implement new project features, enhancements, and infrastructure improvements.
- Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation of project deliverables, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Develop, test, and maintain reusable Terraform modules and IaC patterns for VMSS, storage accounts, vNets/subnets, private endpoints, firewalls, and other Azure services and resources.
- Contribute to Azure Dev Ops pipeline development and maintenance, including YAML pipelines, task definitions, deployment templates, and IaC promotion workflows.
- Implement and enforce IaC best practices, including module versioning, remote state management and locking, and changing review gates.
- Support self-hosted Azure Dev Ops agents and agent pools, including image creation, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Responsible for 24x7 production support for critical solutions, including participation in an on‑call rotation and off‑hours work as required.
- Troubleshoot Azure, pipeline, Terraform, server, network, and application issues using logical problem‑solving techniques.
- Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for infrastructure incidents and support tasks.
- Respond to and remediate incidents reported by monitoring and alerting systems.
- Validate post deployment state, support rollbacks, and participate in remediation for infrastructure incidents.
- Analyze capacity, performance, and constraints using appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Install, configure, and support infrastructure operating systems and underlying services required by application owners.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors during incidents and outages, holding them accountable for service quality and delivery.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand business needs, technical constraints, and desired outcomes.
- Work functionally with security, networking, SRE, and application teams to ensure solutions meet compliance, connectivity, performance, and operational requirements.
- Contribute to the development of reusable assets, patterns, and standards that enable the broader AWG engineering community.
- Work closely with team members to develop, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset; actively give and receive constructive feedback.
- Provide clear communication on technical approach, status, issues, and risks to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Mentor and help grow the skillsets of less experienced engineers when appropriate.
- 5+ years of hands‑on cloud…
