SVP, Platform Technology - State & Federal

Tyler Technologies Inc. is located in Kansas City, Kansas, United States.

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Platform Technology for Tyler Technologies' State & Federal Group will provide strategic and technical leadership to advance the development, adoption, and growth of Tyler's platform technologies across state and federal government markets. This executive leader will align platform strategy with the unique needs of state and federal clients, ensuring Tyler solutions are modern, secure, interoperable, and scalable to meet evolving government demands.

The SVP will work cross‑functionally within the Division with product, service delivery, sales and account management leadership to drive innovation, platform adoption, and competitive differentiation in this strategic market. They will also collaborate with Tyler's CTO office to align with Tyler‑wide technology initiatives and the Division CIO on cloud initiatives.

Initial Objectives
  • Establish a plan to bring together current platform technologies, Application Platform and Engagement Builder to align roadmaps and investments. This should include recommendations for organizational structure, tooling, and optimal resource levels, and expected efficiencies or ROI.
  • Identify opportunities to utilize AI to accelerate development and optimize resource levels.
  • Create a clear go‑to‑market strategy for Platform Technology in the State and Federal markets, in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and Product leadership. This plan should include pricing strategies, use cases and consider implementation and ongoing support needs.
  • Develop a plan to operationalize this go‑to‑market strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders, including processes for evaluation of new opportunities to determine product or solution fit, sales support/demos, pricing and scoping, and hand‑off to implementation resources.
  • Work with Service Delivery leadership to establish consistent implementation methods that result in efficient delivery, effective management of project scope, higher client satisfaction, and internal and external visibility of implementation risk and related mitigation strategies throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Work with Divisional CIO to ensure that Platform Technologies are aligned with the Tyler cloud living initiative, and also that we have the appropriate infrastructure support, including security monitoring and incident handling.
  • Work with FP&A to understand unit economics of the platform technologies to ensure pricing and expense allocation models are aligned to support decision making, growth and improved profitability.
  • Work with Division leadership to refine the modernization strategy for existing custom solutions in the State market, to include appropriate solution identification with a product‑first focus and harvest IP that may be repeatable across the state market.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define and execute the State & Federal platform technology strategy, ensuring alignment with Tyler's overall enterprise vision.
    • Serve as the primary technology thought leader for the State & Federal Group, influencing platform investment priorities.
    • Provide executive-level advocacy for modernization and interoperability within Tyler's solutions.
  • Platform Innovation & Execution
    • Combine existing platform technologies and teams under single leadership, developing a strategy for a cohesive platform approach to the market.
    • Oversee design, integration, and delivery of platform technology to meet state and federal compliance, security, and performance requirements.
    • Drive platform adoption across State & Federal business lines, ensuring common standards and reusability.
    • Partner with technology leaders across other Tyler Divisions to align innovations and identify additional opportunities where the platform can meet client needs.
    • Utilize AI to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Market Engagement
    • Work with marketing and sales leadership to create a go‑to‑market strategy for Platform Technologies in the State and Federal markets, including replacement of legacy technologies and identification of new growth vectors.
    • Represent Tyler as a senior technology leader with state and federal agencies, industry associations, and strategic partners.
    • Monitor market trends, policy changes, and emerging technologies to anticipate client needs and position Tyler ahead of the curve.
