Maintenance Tech – Fairfield Inn Kansas City at the Legends, Kansas City, Kansas.

$19.00/hr – $21.00/hr (part‑time).
Job PurposeThe Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance and working order of the hotel and administers the company’s maintenance and life safety programs including purchasing preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, hotel security, and life safety, supervising the department. The role ensures warm, knowledgeable service and guidance to guests.
Responsibilities- Model and adhere to Guest Service Standards, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with company, state, local and federal policies for a clean, safe environment for associates, guests and vendors.
- Maintain proper operations of hotel equipment and systems: life safety, telecommunications, key control, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pool, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and related systems.
- Handle maintenance requests promptly and courteously, logging and following up.
- Communicate regularly with Assistant General Manager, OM and/or General Manager regarding building, structure and systems condition.
- Supervise external contractors performing maintenance work.
- Follow all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company.
- High School diploma / secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computational ability and computer skills.
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, water softeners, refrigeration) and plumbing/electrical systems.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local equal employment and occupational safety laws (Title VII, Equal Pay Act, etc.).
