Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

New Century, KS

Schedule:

2nd Shift, 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday | $1.50/hour shift differential

Pay: $22.55 - $30.00/hour depending on experience, plus $1.50/hour 2nd shift differential

About The Opportunity

A growing label and packaging manufacturer that prints pressure sensitive, flexographic and shrink sleeve labels for major consumer brands (personal care, beverage, food, nutraceuticals, household products) is adding a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician. You will keep production equipment running through preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.

What You Will Do

- Perform hands-on maintenance by production priority: repair and troubleshoot all production equipment and facility support systems, and help maintain the building

- Supervise maintenance contractors when required

- Keep a Maintenance Action Log by piece of equipment to track repairs and build the preventive maintenance baseline

- Take part in startups and shutdowns, and help plan and schedule shutdown tasks

- Work with vendors and OEMs on parts pricing and repair recommendations

- Follow safe work practices on every work order

- Keep the maintenance area clean and tools and supplies properly stored

- Comply with all company, local, state and federal health, safety and environmental rules

What You Need

- Associate degree in a technical discipline OR 5+ years of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing setting (electrical preferred)

- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation and other electronics

- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment

- PC literacy and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) proficiency

- Basic welding skills a plus

- Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulations

- Willing to learn and attend training classes

- Good communication skills and flexibility to work shift work

- Able to push, pull, bend and lift up to 50 lbs

- Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction

Work Environment

Manufacturing plant floor on 2nd shift, working on printing presses and converting equipment.
