Industrial Engineer

STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing and production operations in Kansas City, Kansas. This role focuses on improving productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost control through the analysis and optimization of people, processes, and technology.

This opportunity is ideal for an Industrial Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing systems, production planning, and continuous improvement who enjoys working cross functionally to drive measurable results.

The Industrial Engineer designs, evaluates, and improves integrated production systems that include human work factors, quality control, inventory management, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The role is responsible for identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.

• Review statistical data and product specifications to establish quality and reliability standards
• Review and approve manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems
• Recommend improvements to personnel utilization, material flow, and facility efficiency
• Communicate with management and production teams to develop and implement production standards
• Create and implement quality control objectives to resolve production issues and reduce costs
• Analyze production costs and evaluate the impact of product design changes
• Review operational sequences, material flow, and organizational structures to assign work responsibilities
• Collaborate with vendors, engineering staff, and management on purchasing, procedures, and manufacturing capabilities
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and work orders to assess manufacturing processes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction
• Provide leadership and mentoring to support performance improvement and process adoption

• Experience using engineering and manufacturing software tools

• Eight to ten years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
