Safety Specialist

Aarcher Talent is seeking a Health & Safety Partner for our client in De Soto, Kansas. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive occupational health and safety programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will work closely with leadership, employees, contractors, and vendors to ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance, identify and mitigate workplace hazards, and promote a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing background, experience developing safety procedures and conducting incident investigations, strong OSHA knowledge, and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

• Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety (OHS) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities.
• Deliver safety training and coach employees, contractors, and vendors on safe work practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain required safety documentation, permits, and reports.

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of health and safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to respond to site emergencies as needed.

• CSP, CIH, HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR, ISO 45001, or related certifications.
• Experience supporting manufacturing startups, commissioning, or high-hazard operations.
• Familiarity with EHS management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Frequent walking and standing in a manufacturing environment.
• Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
• Use of required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, respirators, Tyvek suits, or other protective equipment.
• All candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required.
