WELDING SUPERVISOR (Night Shift)
TALLASSEE AREA
Position Summary: The Night Shift Welding Supervisor oversees all welding and fabrication activities during the overnight shift, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. This role leads a team of welders and fabricators, drives efficiency, and ensures smooth shift operations with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate night shift welding operations across assigned production areas
- Lead, train, and support welders to ensure consistent workmanship and adherence to specifications
- Monitor workflow, production schedules, and staffing to meet nightly output targets
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements; promote a strong safety culture
- Inspect weld quality and ensure compliance with drawings, codes, and customer standards
- Troubleshoot welding issues, equipment problems, and production bottlenecks in real time
- Coordinate with day shift leadership for seamless shift handoffs and communication
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and incident reports
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred)
- 3–7+ years of welding/fabrication experience, with supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and welding safety practices
- Industrial fabrication or manufacturing setting
- Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and heavy equipment
- Night shift hours (typically 8–12 hour shifts) with occasional overtime
