Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required for travel assignments)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification — required prior to first shift
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification — required prior to first shift
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; LTAC, step-down, or critical care experience highly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and care-planning skills for LTAC patient population
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all LTAC patients within 8 hours of admission
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
- Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from day of admission to support safe transitions of care
- Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in team-building activities and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
