The Piper Assisted Living and Memory Support is seeking a Household Nurse to contribute to building a strong foundational team for residents. The Piper is a Household Model community, with 3 Memory Support households and 3 Assisted Living households. Each household is made up of 20 apartments, as well as community living, dining and kitchen areas.

The household nurse is responsible for managing the resident’s health plan and supervising the day to day nursing activities during the shift in accordance with State and Federal regulations and policies and procedures. The household nurse will be an active participant in the negotiated service agreement and meetings with resident and families. The household nurse will be in communication with the Director of Nursing and physician as needed.

The household nurse works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure regulatory compliance, nurture a person-centered and resident-directed culture, strengthen the ability of the household to grow as a separate effective home and promote individual and team learning in the household. Household nurses are teachers and role-models of professional nursing practices to household staff and resident advocates for quality clinical care.

They provide each resident with routine daily nursing care and other desired services in accordance with their assessment, choices and plan of care.

• Must be at a minimum a Licensed Nurse in the state of Kansas.
• One to three years on the job experience in a skilled nursing or retirement facility is desirable.
• Three to five years on the job experience in a skilled nursing or retirement facility is desirable.
• Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, leadership skills, interpersonal relationship skills.
• Understands and is able to adequately maintain all required documentation and documents related to nursing.
• Possesses strong assessment skills, including good insights into resident preferences and needs.
• Demonstrates strong communication and relationship building skills with residents, and is able to explain residents needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
• Commitment to person-centered and resident-directed care.
