Position Summary

Current Openings:
One Full-Time position. (32 hrs. / week; 8:00am – 5:00pm) Delivery of safe, efficient, quality patient/resident care through the use of the nursing process which consists of assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation. Initiates, plans and participates in patient/resident and family education. Supervises and guides those who report to him or her and accepts responsibility for care given. Maintains the standards for professional nursing.

Serves as the point person for the partner Department, Physician, patients, families and visitors. Works in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team, as well as with the patients/residents, families and visitors.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares and updates a plan of care for each patient/resident using the nursing process.
  • Gathers subjective and objective data through the performance of a nursing history and physical assessment as well as the gathering of information from records, charts and other members of the Health Care Team.
  • Evaluates patient response to care provided and documents the care and response to care in a concise, legible manner using the format designated by departmental protocols or appropriately in electronic medical record.
  • Identifies learning needs of the patient and or family, assess the ability of patient and or family member to learn and readiness. Provides educational materials and experiences that will meet the educational, developmental, functional and or ethnic needs of the patient or family.
  • Provides an accurate account of patient/resident status to others responsible for the patient’s/resident’s care to help ensure continuity of care.
  • Evaluates nursing practice and nursing environment and contributes to the development of high standards to ensure quality care.
  • Responds to change in patient/resident care assignments and delegates patient/resident care safely and effectively.
  • Actively participates in professional development / maintaining competency by attending educational programs offered inside and outside of the organization.
  • Performs procedures under the supervision of a provider.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, and measure and record vital signs.
  • Reconcile patient medications within the patient’s medical record.
  • Record patient histories, medications used and any pertinent information needed for the patients visit.
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and necessary information is available for the provider prior to the patient’s appointment.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical equipment.
  • Answer/return patient phone calls.
  • Assist provider with exams as needed.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Remove sutures when needed.
  • Change dressings as needed.
  • Perform venipuncture if needed.
  • Assist in completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider.
  • May assist in the giving of instructions to patients regarding their care.
  • Maintains quality control logs on necessary equipment and testing supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Monitor provider’s schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge,

Education and Experience Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of Wyoming.
