- Travel required to support multiple locations within 150-mile radius of permanent address
- Mileage reimbursement provided for required travel
- Premium Pay Rates:
- $5/hour premium on all hours worked
- $1.25/hour weekend shift differential
- $1.25/hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
- Follows infection prevention and control policies and uses Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities (e.g., bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs) and psychosocial support.
- Assists residents with transfers, repositioning, walking, and uses correct transfer techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercises.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, and supports a positive dining experience; assists residents with meals and snacks and provides water and supplements as appropriate.
- Aids providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed and documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary needs.
- Communicates changes in resident condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
- Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and records vital signs.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
- Supports wellness and recreational programs and encourages resident participation.
- May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
- Colorado:
Depending on facility, Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment required. - Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually) and required certifications.
- When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry in applicable states.
- Dependent on facility responsibilities, may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and valid driver’s license; must be medically qualified to perform driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy.
