School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Kansas City, Kansas

Take the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a young student as a contract-based Registered Nurse specializing in school care. In this unique role, youll work one day per week throughout the 26/27 school year, providing one-on-one nursing support for a kindergarten-age child with a tracheostomy. Your clinical skills and compassionate presence will be instrumental in fostering both safety and inclusion for your student in their educational setting.

• Active RN license in the state
• Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in a school setting
• Proficient in tracheostomy care, including emergency response
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working alongside educators and families
• Demonstrated ability to provide care to young children in a structured environment

• Provide continuous monitoring and medical care for the assigned kindergarten student with a trach throughout the school day
• Administer tracheostomy care, oral suctioning, and respond appropriately to any respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enable inclusive participation in school activities
• Maintain thorough documentation of care provided and communicate relevant health updates to parents and school personnel
