American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3 years of ED experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• 8-bed Emergency Department within a community hospital setting
• Average daily census of 60 patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Weekend requirement, though frequency may vary due to staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Must float to all community hospital ER units and potentially between departments and facilities as needed
• Treats a wide range of ED presentations including ACS, CVA/TIA, respiratory conditions, sepsis, trauma, abdominal pain, behavioral health emergencies, and common medical complaints
• Uses Epic for charting

• Active RN license required; both Kansas and Missouri licenses or a compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
• 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Must have a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Skills required include obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering emergency medications
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

• Provide emergency care to patients with a wide variety of acute conditions, including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and trauma presentations
• Work alongside a care team including providers, paramedics, radiology techs, and patient access reps in a combined ED and med-surg/intermediate care facility
• Staff take working lunches due to high patient volume
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days is permitted, and all time off must be finalized prior to consideration
• Previous BJC or Saint Luke's employees must have at least 18 months of tenure and a 3-month break in service, or wait 1 year if returning as a traveler after permanent employment
• Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment
