When you work as an Associate Scientist in the Mass Spec Bioanalysis Production group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by applying your knowledge in bioanalytical and scientific principles to support regulated study execution with increasing independence. You will contribute to study activities from sample preparation through data generation while continuing to build your ability to assess data integrity and troubleshoot with guidance.
Our Mass Spec Bioanalysis Production team uses LCMS (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry) techniques to conduct bioanalytical testing in support of regulated preclinical and clinical studies, including the quantification of drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers in biological matrices.
In this role, we will rely on you to:- Execute assigned study activities including sample preparation, extraction, and LCMS analysis with moderate supervision
- Perform established bioanalytical methods and procedures in support of regulated studies
- Perform data processing and prepare data summaries for review by senior scientific staff
- Troubleshoot routine sample preparation, assay, or instrumentation issues and escalation
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in compliance with study protocols, SOPs & GLP regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, tracking, and chain of custody
- Support investigation and documentation of deviations or unexpected study results as needed
- Maintain laboratory and instrument readiness to support study execution and established timelines
- Communicate study progress, issues, and potential risks to senior staff
- Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values
- Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related scientific field with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Hands-on experience working in a GLP-regulated laboratory environment
- Experience with bioanalytical sample preparation and quantitative LC-MS/MS techniques
- Working knowledge of chromatographic principles and mass spectrometry
- Experience executing established bioanalytical methods in support of regulated studies
- Working knowledge of GLP documentation, data integrity, and sample handling requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot routine technical issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within SOP-driven and regulated workflows
