Summary:

** The Senior Research Data Analyst will contribute to a multi-year assessment of health service utilization and outcomes in the south-central Midwest/Great Plains in collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team of demographers and health services researchers. In this position, the data analyst will contribute to the quantitative analysis of large scale federal administrative data sets (Medicare, Medicaid claims), as well as report, manuscript, and grant preparation.##

*** Perform descriptive and model-based analyses to support health service utilization and outcomes assessment(s).
* Generate clear, publication-quality visualizations and tables to communicate analytic findings to a wide audience, including policy audiences and community stakeholders.
* Conducts activities in a professional and ethical manner, and in accordance with KUMC Policies and applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
* Performs job responsibilities in a safe and secure manner.
* Coordinate work with other University areas ensure integration and support of the University mission.
* Develops, maintains and expands job-specific knowledge and skills to keep pace with industry changes and supports the university's commitment to excellence and innovation.
* Participates in relevant committees, task force, or other similar activities.
* Maintain confidentiality of medical center, employee, and patient information. Manages sensitive data with discretion and in accordance with KUMC policies and legal requirements.
* Maintains the highest standards of integrity, respect, professional conduct, and ethical standards.
* Identify analytic needs of research questions; design and execute analyses that provide meaningful and actionable answers.
* Clean, organize, and link multiple large datasets and ensure reproducibility and data integrity.
* Interpretation of results and dissemination of findings through preparation of reports, journal articles, presentations, and other scholarly outputs. Specifically, contributions towards analytic design and support.
* Assist with IRB and other regulatory requirements (e.g., data use agreements)
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* May mentor and work as a resource for other team members in terms of quality data practice.
