AboutThe Role
CBRE is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician at one of our clients with a "Food Production" facility in Kansas City, MO. We are looking for a tech who will take pride in keeping buildings running like clockwork. If you’re hands‑on, reliable, and have a mechanical mindset, we want to hear from you!
- Non‑smoking facility; work uniforms and boots must stay within the facility. Workers must change any time they come and go from the building.
- Monday‑Friday 7:00 - 3:30. Very occasional on‑call could arise.
CBRE is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, monitoring and repairs on building systems including mechanical and electrical components (light, plumbing, carpentry and electrical / lighting). This role supports energy efficiency, ensures compliance with safety codes. Ideal candidates have basic mechanical experience, strong organizational skills, and the physical ability to handle manual tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
- Review assigned work orders and update CMMS (SI7) with job status updates and completion notes.
- Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
- Inspect existing Fire Life Safety equipment, building codes and safety laws.
- Experience with dock doors, levelers, and restraints is preferred.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
- Exchange information in a clear, concise manner.
- Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
- Deliver own output by following procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 1‑2 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education may be considered.
- It is preferred that candidates have commercial facilities/built maintenance experience with some dock experience.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Microsoft Office products:
Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and manage work orders through a CMMS. - Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive, mechanical mindset.
