Structured Cabling Technician

Service Point IT is seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our team for CAT5 and CAT6 cabling installations in large commercial environments. This position requires 100% travel across the U.S. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structured cabling, network infrastructure, and large-scale commercial installations.

• Install, terminate, and test CAT5 and CAT6 network cabling in commercial environments.
• Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and troubleshooting.
• Adhere to industry standards for structured cabling, including BICSI guidelines.
• Work with fiber optic terminations and patch panels as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project documentation.
• Ensure proper cable management, organization, and documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other technicians.
• Follow safety procedures and adhere to OSHA standards.
• Travel extensively to job sites across the U.S. (100% travel required).

• 2+ years of experience in structured cabling installation (CAT5, CAT6).
• Proficiency in cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Fluke testers and other network testing tools.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (heights, confined spaces, etc.).
• Ability to travel nationwide.

• BICSI certification or other structured cabling certifications.
• Experience with fiber optic installation.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
