General Laborer - Concrete and Masonry Construction
Join our team as a General Laborer, where you will perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects. This role involves preparing surfaces for concrete, shoveling concrete, and maintaining a clean job site. You will also handle materials, load and unload trucks, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects.
- Prepare surfaces for concrete and shovel concrete into construction areas.
- Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment and securing the job site each day.
- Handle and store materials appropriately.
- Load and unload trucks, haul, and hoist materials.
- Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance.
- Forklift service and preventative maintenance.
- Welding, cutting, and fabrication.
- Hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Industrial maintenance and equipment operation.
- Blueprint reading and measuring with tape measures.
- Nice-to-have skills:
Diesel engine repair, basic electrical troubleshooting (120V/240V), concrete or precast manufacturing experience, woodworking/carpentry, loader, skid steer, or backhoe maintenance, MIG or stick welding experience.

Work EnvironmentYou will work both indoors and outdoors across a variety of tasks and in various weather conditions. You will be required to stand on your feet for extended periods, walk on uneven terrain, and lift up to 75lbs. Expect to work in different departments, wearing steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
