Big Lakes County invites applications for the position of FCSS Community Outreach Worker. We are looking for a dedicated and organized individual to join our team and support residents of Big Lakes County and the Town of High Prairie through community programs and services.
In This Role- Assist residents with government forms and applications.
- Provide resource and referral information.
- Connect individuals with appropriate agencies and community supports.
- Promote FCSS programs and events.
- Advocate on behalf of residents in their interactions with various government departments.

KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate FCSS services and programs across the service area.
- Promote positive public relations for Big Lakes County's Family and Community Support Services.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, community events, focus groups, and conferences, including:
- Volunteer Appreciation Nights
- Seniors Week
- Family Day
- Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
- County Barbecue
- Christmas Angels Hamper Program
- Red Silhouette Program
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate both existing and new FCSS initiatives.
- Ensure all programs meet provincial FCSS preventative social service criteria.
- Provide residents with information on local, municipal, provincial, and federal resources.
- Offer referrals and assistance in accessing appropriate services and supports.
- Network and collaborate with other agencies to connect residents to services.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy in all client interactions.
- Complete Registration & Inquiry (R&I) and Emergency Social Services (ESS) training.
- Assist in evacuation centres during emergencies as required.
- Maintain accurate records and submit monthly reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Grade 12 diploma (required).
- Post‑secondary training or certification in a related field is considered an asset.
- FOIPP training is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector).
- Current 5‑year Driver's Abstract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:15am‑4:00pm
Kinuso Office:
Tuesday, Thursday 8:15am‑4:00pm
