Job Title
Responsibilities include using a strengths-based model of community case management with families whose child has come to the attention of the juvenile justice system. Engages and assists families as they navigate the juvenile justice and social services systems. Builds and sustains a successful relationship with the family, involves the families in the juvenile justice process, and reduces barriers to promote the youth's successful rehabilitation and reintegration.
Assesses needs and develops plans to help families reduce the youths' risk of future law violations. Visits families in their homes, at school and at community-based programs. Collaborates with families, court personnel and service providers. Facilitates evidence-based programs to youth and families that target specific needs such as anger control, family functioning, pro-social thinking skills, development of appropriate leisure activities, job skills development.
Assists in transporting family and youth to services. Enters information into state information systems and checks information to ensure accuracy. Prepares a variety of reports, prepares for and attends court meetings and hearings.
Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of the juvenile justice system. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Knowledge of supervisory principles and court systems is preferred. Valid Driver's License. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Salary Range: $27.54-$36.83/hr.
