We are seeking a Lead High Acuity Case Management Specialist to join our team.

We are seeking a Lead High Acuity Case Management Specialist to join our team. Your role will be responsible for improving service delivery of the Foster Care Case Management services provided to youth and families. You will support the Manager of Permanency Services in the development of high acuity case managers and behavioral interventionists through training and coaching and will provide additional quality assurance through periodic case reviews, case consultation, and review of AVATAR documentation.

As a member of the KS Foster Care team, you will work with other team members and report to our Manager of High Acuity Permanency Services.

What you will do
  • Provides ongoing mentoring, on the job coaching, and training to a maximum of 2 high acuity foster care case management specialists and 2 behavioral interventionists.
  • Assists with peer record reviews, completes documentation audits, and evaluates reports to ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Serves on program and system improvement committees and takes an active role in strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Continually analyze and assess each family and child situation on an individual basis, using advanced knowledge in the area of child welfare to develop recommendations regarding supportive services and resources that each child and family may need, such as educational plans, medical, psychiatric and psychological assessments, therapy, independent living skills, etc.
  • Assumes responsibility for managers, in their absence, as needed, directed and required.
  • Carries a caseload of 10 – 12 youth who have been referred under the Foster Care Case Management Contract utilizing Signs of Safety (SOS), to include youth who are deemed ready to discharge from the High Acuity program.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice or other human services related field.
  • Master’s degree in social work and licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas are preferred.
  • At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
