Position Summary:
Truck Driver Professional is responsible for safely transporting products, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and completing accurate documentation. The role includes vehicle inspection and maintenance, loading/unloading shipments, and supporting warehouse operations, including handling hazardous materials when required. Candidates need a valid Class A CDL, with Tanker and Haz Mat endorsements, relevant driving experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments.
- Operate gasoline or diesel-powered trucks to transport products (liquid, loose, or packaged).
- Plan deliveries and pickups by interpreting customer orders, shipping papers, and purchase orders.
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips; document defects and ensure safe operating condition.
- Perform routine maintenance (tires, brakes, lights, fluids, etc.).
- Maintain driver logs and required documentation (bills of lading, waybills, trip reports).
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company SOPs, and safety standards.
- Load and unload products; verify accuracy of shipments and documentation.
- Secure shipments according to DOT standards.
- Meet customer delivery requirements, including labeling and documentation.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as housekeeping, maintenance, product drumming, and returns.
- Operate forklifts as needed.
- Use company equipment (cell phones, ERP systems) appropriately.
- Handle hazardous materials, including:
Managing hazardous waste and storage. - Responding to spills/incidents per emergency plans.
- Completing manifests, logs, and regulatory reports.
- Required High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of relevant experience and/or training
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL – all classes)
- Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and documents
- Basic problem-solving and communication skills
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Work around mechanical equipment
- Occasional exposure to:
Chemicals Noise Fumes or airborne particles Toxic or caustic substances May work at elevated or precarious heights
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing
