The Inventory/Receiving Specialist supports accurate inventory control and efficient receiving operations. This role bridges the Receiving and Inventory departments, performing cycle counts, receiving functions, discrepancy resolution, returns processing, and related inventory integrity work. The position requires frequent work on and around forklifts in a busy warehouse environment. Success requires strong attention to detail, physical capability, and proficiency with company systems and product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Execute receiving functions, including inspection, documentation, and put-away of incoming materials.
- Process returns, ensuring accurate system updates and proper handling of returned product.
- Operate and work safely around forklifts as part of daily receiving, put-away, and inventory activities.
- Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy through detailed verification and documentation.
- Work proficiently in multiple systems, including Agility and the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Learn and apply knowledge of trim profiles, door patterns, and other company products to support accurate receiving and inventory transactions.
- Safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with Receiving, Inventory, and other teams to support overall warehouse flow and accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Systems Manager.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
- High attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely on and around forklifts in a high-traffic warehouse environment.
- Proficiency (or demonstrated ability to quickly become proficient) in warehouse systems, including Agility and WMS.
- Willingness and ability to learn product details such as trim profiles, door patterns, and related materials.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Prior experience in inventory control, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience.
- Familiarity with cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and returns processing.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
- Frequent work on and around forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise, and active material-handling equipment.
- Wears high visibility, safety PPE, and proper uniform
- Performs daily vehicle inspections
- Safely operates equipment
- Promptly report all accidents/incidents and damaged products
- Report any malfunctioning equipment
- Exposure to year-round outside weather conditions, including excessive heat, humidity, rain, cold, dust, ice/snow.
- Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
