This is a 100% in‑person role, in a professional office setting in South Kansas City, MO.

Job Summary:

Responsible for daily accounting tasks that support month‑end and year‑end processes. The Staff Accountant will possess a strong attention to detail and will assist with relevant administrative tasks. They will collaborate and provide guidance to relevant accounting department team members.

Essential Functions:
  • Financial Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness in recording financial transactions.
    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
  • Month‑End Close:
    • Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes.
    • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Assist in the compilation of data for financial analysis.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Audit Support:
    • Assist and support external auditors during annual audits.
    • Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other departments to obtain relevant financial information.
    • Provide financial expertise and support to various teams within the organization.

Required Education/Experience/

Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a relevant role.
Preferred Education/Experience/

Certifications:
  • Transportation or Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
