Aboutthe role
The primary purpose of this position is to support the GSA, located in Kansas City, MO, in the overall accounting and financial activities to handle the administrative and organizational functions necessary for an efficient organization. The accounting services are needed to support financial programs. This position is full time, and on-site.
What you'll do- Lead Customer Service Technician – Read, respond, transfer, research all emails that are received by the KC-Payroll Division
- Debt Management – Verify and create employee debts each bi-weekly pay period. Create a detailed bi-weekly debt report which is used by the Debt Team. Monitor, inform and collect GLI and HBI debts.
- Verify employees who are on LWOP/AWOL do not get paid for Holidays.
- Generate and distribute bi-weekly reports as requested to upper management.
- Back‑Up to Scanning Technician and to other members of the Debt Team.
- Works with GSA Branch Chief on special projects when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 1–3 years of accounting or financial experience;
or - Equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and professional experience.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- A passion for learning, continuous improvement, and personal growth.
- Significant knowledge of Accounts Receivables processes, including international processes.
- 3‑7 years of progressive work experience.
- Generally accepted accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of accounting/financial theory and practice.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Coordinate accounting matters and reporting with other departments, locations, divisions and external customers.
- Assist with Annual Statement, Tax reporting, Audits.
- Accuracy/attention to detail.
