Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a rapidly growing, privately held healthcare management organization in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking an Accounting Manager to centralize and lead accounting operations across multiple markets.

• Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement review
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare non-routine journal entries for acquisitions and special projects
• Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
• Conduct variance analysis and provide management commentary
• Generate and distribute KPIs and financial statements
• Oversee payroll accounting
• Act as primary contact for payroll system issues
• Supervise and mentor a geographically distributed accounting team
• Drive process improvement and automation, including ERP and treasury platform integrations
• Lead onboarding and integration of newly affiliated practices
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and prepare for audits

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA and/or PMP certification preferred
• 5-7 years of general accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, Index/Match)
• Strong analytical, project management, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience with ERP accounting software
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus
