This is a full‑time on‑site role for the Accounts Receivable Specialist at Mainline Services, LLC in Kansas City, MO. This position will be responsible for accurately processing billing invoices, reconciling credit card transactions, and ensuring timely collection of payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This position requires a strong self‑motivated individual with a positive, high‑energy attitude and the ability to complete all daily work activities on time.
What you will do:- Generate and distribute accurate and timely billing invoices to customers based on contract terms and project milestones.
- Review billing invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all relevant information is included and billing rates are correct.
- Prepare and send billing statements to customers on a regular basis, following up on any outstanding balances.
- Reconcile credit card transactions and receipts, ensuring all expenses are properly categorized and documented.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing errors in a timely manner, working closely with internal departments and customers as needed.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past‑due accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
- Process incoming payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic funds transfers, applying payments accurately to customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of customer transactions, payments, and account balances in the accounting system.
- Assist with month‑end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts receivable balances and preparing reports for management.
- Collaborate with other members of the finance team to improve billing and accounts receivable processes and procedures.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related role, preferably in the construction or transportation industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of credit card reconciliation processes and procedures is a plus.
