Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their finance team. This role will focus strong internal controls, managing month-end close, and providing accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and advise the accounting team on GAAP principles and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate financial data.
• Manage the month-end close process across departments.
• Analyze financial results to identify and correct material misstatements.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Develop and monitor internal controls and conduct audits to ensure policy compliance.
• Oversee inventory costing methods, including standard cost management and annual revaluation.
• Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement process improvements in financial operations.
• Mentor and support accounting team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA
• 6+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or internal audit
• 3+ years of experience managing accounting professionals
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting
• Experience in a SOX-compliant environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• Experience in multi-location operations
• Public accounting background
• Familiarity with Syspro and/or Epicor ERP systems
• Proficiency in Power BI or similar BI tools
