Align CPAs LLC’s Kansas City office is a boutique public accounting firm specializing in high-quality tax compliance and proactive strategic tax planning. We work with business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and families with complex tax situations who value thoughtful planning throughout the year—not just during tax season.

Our firm provides the opportunity to work directly with experienced professionals, gain meaningful client exposure, and build deep tax and advisory expertise while embracing emerging technology and AI.

You’ll prepare individual and business income tax returns while developing the technical skills necessary to assist with tax planning and client advisory services.

You’ll receive direct mentorship from two CPA tax professionals, each with more than 10 years of technical tax experience. You’ll receive hands‑on training, participate in strategic tax planning projects, and have opportunities to sit in on client meetings.

• Prepare individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and other tax returns
• Gather and analyze client tax information and maintain accurate work papers
• Research federal and state tax issues
• Assist with strategic tax planning for businesses and individuals
• Participate in client meetings alongside experienced tax professionals
• Communicate directly and professionally with clients
• Develop proficiency with tax software, workflow systems, Excel, and emerging AI technologies
• Continuously develop your technical tax and professional skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA eligible or pursuing CPA/EA preferred
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A genuine appetite for learning—both tax and technology
• Public accounting, tax internship, or tax software experience is preferred

This is a full‑time, hybrid position based in Kansas City, combining in‑office collaboration and training with the flexibility to work remotely.

The position totals approximately 2,080 hours annually, with the workload intentionally structured around tax season:

• Up to approximately 55 hours per week during tax season (January–April)
• Reduced schedule outside of tax season

• Short‑ and long‑term disability
• 3 weeks paid time off
• Competitive compensation (estimated $65K-$85K based on experience)
